Leadership Quality - Barack Obama qualities

Emerging leaders - Barack Obama.
It was the question a lot of people were asking whether he would be
able to achieve his ambitious goals. It seems he sets new challenges
every time when he achieve new heights. This quality of his setting
new and bigger challenges took him to the post of American President.
I noticed something special in Barack Obama. One thing that I noticed
is that he is not afraid to surrounded by other brilliant people from
whom he get advice. He learn new things from them. He goes to
meetings with an open heart. He is not stuck up with ego. He is
willing to learn new things. He is willing to listen. He is not like
many of us. We go to meetings with a made up mind and will not let
others to crush our ego. May be because of this ego problem, we are
not open or willing to change and not growing.
When he look at his background, a half white, half black, raised by his
maternal grandparents since he was 10, who never knew his father
achieved the greatest hight a man can achieve. What about me and you?
Many of us may say "it's luck" that he reached that position. It is
not luck or surroundings or genetics or colour etc. etc. but he is
taking every day focused actions with calculated risk in his life. He
has gone through the steps of learning, growing, teaching, writing,
earning and gaining trust and support etc. But not afraid of
challenge. He was a seeker of challenges. Set his mind on his Goal.
He grown up to a leader who comes out to address the biggest problems
of the mankind.
We need hundreds of leaders who are not afraid to rise up not for their
own personal gain, but to address the problems of common people. It
will bring fame and money. It adds responsibility.
We never know what is tomorrow? If you know the secret of these
successful people, you might as well go after them with a determination
to accomplish many thing that you want to achieve. There is no fear,
but learning, growing and succeeding. Every day you wake up with a
determination to grow and succeed.
Many times there will be criticism, fall, defeat, setbacks etc. may
come in your life. You may make mistakes. Do not allow them to hold
you back. Keep growing. Wherever you are, whatever you are ding, do
it with a determination to succeed. You may be a worker, a mother, a
teacher, a preacher, a housewife, an officer, a trainer, a teacher, or
a hubber, whichever is your profession, do your work with a
determination to succeed. No one can stop you doing your best. Only
you can stop you from succeeding. When bad things come just do what
you needs to do and keep going forward. Sounds good and possible for
others but impossible for you? Let me tell you it is possible with
you. Just you need to have that mind set.

I am also a fan of Barack Obama! He is an amazing individual!
Hi Jacob,
Nice hub. Citizens of America were mad of Obama . However, situation has changed and people of America started campaign against him.
Anyway,
Thanks for a nice hub.

One of the outstanding qualities that I admire about President Obama is, as you stated, "he is not afraid to surrounded by other brilliant people from whom he get advice." This action reminded me of a CEO at a hospice who assumed the position when the previous CEO was terminated. Unlike the previous, she immediately surrounded herself with those who possessed expertise in areas she did not. She never demonstrated intimidation and allowed maximum freedom in the performance of responsibilities. Needless to say, this hospice census skyrocketed. In my estimation, this is a key leadership quality. All leaders are subject to ridicule as we all are really. What occurs on a national scale also occurs in our families, on our jobs, in our communities and so forth. Regardless, leadership skills remain what it is. Interesting hub. Thank you.
I disagree totally but thanks for the interesting hub. I'll send it to Fox! LOL!!
A very lovely and thoughtful article. Thank you for taking the time to express yourself. When President Obama was voted in as president, my heart soared! I especially resonated to these inspirational words which you wrote "We never know what is tomorrow?... There is no fear, but learning, growing and succeeding. Every day you wake up with a determination to grow and succeed." Best Always, GPS
Good read. Two things though, what has Obama accomplished exactly and I don't believe I'd hold out the people he seeks advice from as examples. Even Obama has had to pull away from many of them.
Barack Obama had and has great potential but is squandering it by believing and acting on the premise that our Constitutional structure is flawed and has to be changed by the raw exercise of power and the manipulation of public opinion. He promised transparency but gave us czars with power to make major decisions without public debate. Instead of asking the American people to change the Constitutional structure through amendment, he has tried to do it by sheer force of Presidential power backed by a frightened Democratic majority in Congress. When it came to concluding health care legislation, this Congress decided to try to reconcile the differences between Senate and House versions through back room, secret bargaining rather than open debate. Obama could have done the right thing and openly urged Congress to debate the differences and let the people be heard. He didn't, and now has a mess on his hands with the Republicans in the Senate winning back the filibuster through the Massachusetts senatorial election. Also, both bills are purposefully vague with the details to be sketched out in the administrative rule making process, which the President controls. This will be headed up, if we get that far, by Cass Susstein, one of the czars, who in his book "Nudge," advocates small end runs around the Constitution to ease Americans toward a "progressive" government where the general welfare is totally determined by the federal government insulated from public opinion. He also advocates the allocation of health care to those whose cost-benefit profile makes them more deserving of treatment. I won't use the terms soscialism or rationing, so readers can draw their own conclusions.
Obama does believe in a radical change in American government to redistribute wealth and shrink the national ecomonic engine to permit a more environmentally friendly life style. He should lay his cards on the table, propose an amendment to the Constitution that would give Congress express powers to harness the American economy, and then debate the hell out of his position in an effort to sell it to the American people. Then you can argue with his vision but no one could accuse him of not being transparent. And if and until he gets the changes he wants, he should fire the czars and stop the "nudging." But as a poltician, he knows that he was elected because the American people thought he would be a moderate dedicated to tuning the American engine, not throwing it out and replacing it with a new one. Be the man of vision and principle that the American people thought they were electing, Mr. President, not the down in the dirt Chicago politican that has emerged in your first year in office.
How can one truly lead without experience, hes never had a business of his own, he has no idea the hardships true working Americans go thru or what we face each day. I am sorry so many of you see him in this light. Im not angry but sad, this man is arrogant, he doesnt listen to the people he is selfish and forced health care down our throats all the while the country is begging him to focus on jobs and allowing millions to save their cars, homes and personal lives, those that appreciate him are in the minority of current voters, him and his party will be defeated by numbers you have never witnessed in an election during your lifetimes. ..... your view however was very interesting
I entirely agree with you, Jacobs. The man Barack Obama is someone am presently understudying 'cos am often times inspired by him. Thanks
Tobey100 and Publius 1787 nailed it...he has surrounded himself with radicals who stand diametrically opposed to the Constitution...
jacobkuttyta, we share the same Father, but I believe you are confusing charisma with character...
God bless...

I've followed his career long before he ran for President. When I vote I am well informed. President Obama has previously accomplished so much that we never hear about.
For example, there are so many people crying over being turned into independent contractors by gigantic corporations - therefore depriving them of all benefits (and the states of weekly taxes) - he was one of only two US senators who fought for change.
Leadership qualities do not shine through by what you say - it is by what you do all the time. His long-time adult credentials are impeachable or he never would have made it to office in this biased culture.
Our representative government remains self-serving, so much so that he was mocked for being a community organizer, for being on the ground in his early days, by those running for high office.
These words have never been truer 'you get the government you deserve' - and we truly have. Fortunately, there are enough disfranchised and young people and the internet to help us effect change. We want true leaders that can effect change, not the usual mouth pieces.
Thanks for some talk on what it takes to be a true leader.
